Rock & Roll Over John Steinbeck

Experience the psychedelic sixties without the drugs!  Our 3D art exhibition, Rock & Roll Over John Steinbeck, will take you back in time.  Local artists created works of art based on John Steinbeck’s life and works – inspired by the 1960s posters from the Fillmore in San Francisco – and placed them all over the Steinbeck District in Downtown Salinas.

The exhibit is part adventure, part time travel, and part pure fun as viewers stroll through the historic heart of arts, culture, and cuisine that is the Steinbeck District of Downtown Salinas. Businesses will host individual artworks, and historic audio stories from 1967 by local voices during the 1st Fridays Art Walk on July 7th and August 4th.

3D glasses are available for $3 (all proceeds benefit Dorothy’s Place Women Alive! Shelter) so the audience can peace out and experience the art in a new dimension. Please join us as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Summer of Love as a community and demonstrate the values of sharing, caring, and love through giving back and paying forward.
